My art resin journey
A few weeks ago, I received an email from Art Resin, a company I have liked for some time, I have found their hints and advice very valuable.
I was offered their product to try, document and add to my webpage, I agreed as I was eager to try this product as I had seen some great results with it.
2 weeks worth of heavy rain certainly slowed my progress, and I am ready to begin the process and share this with you along the way.
Works in progress.
Art should be fun, messy, liberating and enjoyable.
The path is not always pretty, yet the end results will be.
Share my messy moments with me.

The preparation is very important, and again non to romantic.
Having recently moved house I do not have a permanent set up, and used a sturdy fold up table, large plastic storage boxes, plastic bags and masking tape. Method is simple cover lid of plastic storage boxes, tape well, place on table, I will work on this and use the base of the box to carefully cover the work t night to protect from curious bugs. |
Gather your utensils and paints, remembering
to read all of your safety instruction carefully, masks and protective aprons, glasses and gloves are essential. Safe work is happy work. I use a variety of paints and glitters when I am feeling sparkly. There are many methods for using resin, I have use the fluid art pouring methods. I will resin and I may use a second pour over the resin, then coat again with Art Resin. |
The two styles I have used here are quite different. The white is quite textured.
The white and green canvas I have used a string pull method to give a wispy grassy effect, and I was feeling glittery. The 2nd layer will be similar string pull effect with flowers over the grasses. The 2 part black work is also glittery, a little cosmic perhaps. the second layer will have a balloon splotch type of effect, leaving starbursts of colour, that is my hope anyway, this method is a first for me. Who knows, we may discover a happy accident. |
The almost finished works, the shine from the light on the still wet resin is showing as a white line and is not on the art work itself.
The photo really do not do this justice, the completed work will however as I will use a professional photographer Keiran Egan Photography to take the photos of the work while hanging on a wall. |
